Feeling Heaven
The leader of Dir En Grey rubbed his temples. He sighed agitatedly, Kyo had run off to who knows were in the middle of a tour. Kaoru’s dark eyes scanned the room. Toshiya was saying something about a new anime, Die was listening intently. The only one who seemed worried was Shinya. He was scratching Miyu on the head nervously. Kaoru sat down by the shy man. The couch creaked as he sunk into its plush surface. He ran his hands through his dark purple hair. “Shinya do you have any idea of were he went?” He inquired softly. The Chihuahua sniffed Kaoru’s hand before wagging his tail.
The blonde shook his head. “Maybe a quiet place to think?” He bit his lip nervously playing with Miyu’s collar. The pup wiggled out of his owner’s grasp and curled up on the couch. He opened his petite mouth in a yawn before burying his head in the sofa.
Kaoru considered it before getting up. “I’ll go look for him.” He sighed as he started to pull on a pair of black tennis shoes. He slowly laced them together before double knotting them.
Die’s face lit up. “Kaoru’s searching for his lover!?” The red head piped up mischievously. Toshiya grinned and wrapped his slender arms around Die’s waist. “Oh how romantic!” They gleefully teased.
Kaoru glared at them as he grasped the doorknob. “Dumb asses.” He grumbled before walking out, slamming the door shut behind him. Shinya smiled faintly watching him go. He’s worried…
The cold wind ripped through Kaoru’s hair. He zipped up his black jacket hoping to stay the least bit warm. He found himself just letting his mind wander. He didn’t think about were he was going, Kaoru just let himself relax. He felt at ease in the quiet. His pale features softened slightly. He walked down a gravel path the rocks crunching underneath his shoes. The sun was lowered in the pale blue sky. Puffy white clouds seemed to embrace the golden ball. Kaoru saw a head of orange hair and frowned. “Kyo-San…” He mumbled softly to himself.
Kyo was sitting down leaning against a tree. Crumpled up papers were scattered across the emerald green grass. He glared down at a pen and notebook. His knees where drawn up to his chest. Today he wore a grey jacket with blue jeans. Kaoru silently walked over to him. He slid down the trunk of the tree and sat next to him. “Why didn’t you tell us were you where?” The taller man commanded an answer. His face hardened as he looked at the man beside him.
Kyo bit his lip not replying. His nails dug into his arm. Blood trickled out of the new wounds, slowly staining the ground. Kaoru grabbed the shorter man’s hand. “Stop doing that.” He snapped.
Kyo’s glare intensified. “Like you would give a damn!” Kyo’s voice echoed. “All you ever do is get pissed at every damn thing I do!”
“You know that isn’t true!” Kaoru cried out angrily. Something in his chest felt like it was breaking.
“Fuck off!” Kyo shouted as he pushed Kaoru away. The outburst turned into a heavy silence between the two. The wind seemed to whisper and the grass rolled left from right. Minutes passed and neither of them wanted to speak. Somewhere in Kyo’s heart he knew he did something wrong. Purple hair fell gently over Kaoru’s solemn face as he leaned over and grabbed a crumpled piece of paper. Kyo looked away from him as Kaoru flattened it out. It crinkled as he pulled it closer so he could read it.
Dedicated to Kaoru.
Those were the only words Kyo wrote. Kaoru smiled softly as he gently wrapped his arms around Kyo. The shorter man looked sad as Kaoru ran his hands through his hair. “Well, I’m sure whatever you write… It’ll mean a lot to me.” He said softly.
For a fleeting moment Kyo felt heaven.
